CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #164 hosted by Meg.

We have some brilliant news – Carol is back with the team! Carol has asked that I let you all know what she went through, warts and all, in case it helps anyone else who may have the same issue. I’ll let Carol tell you in her own words – it’s a bit lengthy but worth a read if it helps anyone else:

‘After having been absent for about 16 weeks and with so much happening, I am afraid 'Hi' is about the only greeting I can muster.

Sometime at the end of March, I was rushed to the hospital by ambulance as I wasn't very well.  I don't even remember the date or the actual arrival.  I have since gathered from several of my friends that I was 'proper poorly' and looked as though I might not survive.

But I am here to tell the tale, or rather what I can remember.  I was struck by something called discitis and psoas.  Yes, I had to look it up.  Several medics that I spoke to hadn't heard of it either.  In layman's terms, it is an infection in the spine, but it is not necessarily known where it comes from or came from.  It needs serious antibiotic treatment, which is what I was given - 54 doses to be exact.  I also had some very serious pain killers that really sent me loopy.  I can still remember some of the serious and unpleasant thoughts I had, and I don't ever want any of those medicines again.  How anyone takes them for fun I can't comprehend?

I have slowly recovered. Part of that was learning to walk again with a walker. I still have to use one when I am outside the house.  The antibiotics and pain killers have been stopped, but I have had several medical appointments.  I cannot praise the NHS enough for the wonderful treatment that I received and am still receiving.  There was a time when I thought that I may not make it.  I gather that my family and friends were very worried.  I had many visitors in the hospital and since at home.  I would like to thank them all for their kindness.

I have now - TG - managed to return to crafting.  I was getting so sick of the TV.  I couldn't do anything else.  Not even concentrate enough to read or listen to my audiobooks.  I have picked up my stitch cards again and am now thoroughly enjoying my days of enforced leisure by being productive.’

All the team are so relieved Carol has recovered. For now she will be joining in with the challenges as she feels able to and I will continue writing the posts for each challenge.

As always, it is an Anything Goes Challenge, as long as either a CD, USB or digital download - or any combination thereof – has been used in the making of your project.  Please, please remember to state the source. Also please remember that only 3 entries per challenge are permitted.

Before we show you the team’s contributions to the current challenge, here is the Top 3 for Challenge #162 - chosen by Jocelyn on behalf of Carol:

1st No:15 Bonnie Lynn.

This is such a great atmospheric steam punk style card.

2nd No:20 Shaz.

This is a really fun card with lovely bright colours.

3rd No3: Pam’s Pearls.

Beautiful colouring on this one and nice colour choice.

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #163 hosted by Pamela.

It looks like summer is over for the UK! We’re back to dull and sometimes wet days. Just as the school children start their school holidays. No matter what the weather’s doing we still have crafting to cheer us up.

As always, it is an Anything Goes Challenge, as long as either a CD, USB or digital download - or any combination thereof – has been used in the making of your project.  Please, please remember to state the source. Also please remember that only 3 entries per challenge are permitted.

Before we show you the team’s contributions to the current challenge, here is the Top 3 for Challenge #161 - chosen by Jocelyn:

1st No 1 Helen.

The sentiment on this card made me chuckle.
The background is a bit different and the colours all work well together.

2nd No17 Renate.

This is just so soft and pretty and the backing paper reflects the colour of the flowers perfectly.

3rd No 8: Michelle.

I love the colours on this card and the way the colour of the floral embellishments compliment the main image.

Congratulations to our winners and please don’t forget to grab the appropriate banner from the side bar.

And now here are the ideas from the team for our new Challenge #1623 – starting, of course, with me - Pamela:

CD Sunday Plus - Challenge #162 hosted by Jocelyn.

Jocelyn has kindly stepped in to cover this challenge that would have been hosted by Carol.

I hope everyone is coping with the heat that some of the UK is having at the moment. Here in South Wales it hasn’t been as hot as in other areas,

As always, it is an Anything Goes Challenge, as long as either a CD, USB or digital download - or any combination thereof – has been used in the making of your project.  Please, please remember to state the source. Also please remember that only 3 entries per challenge are permitted.

Before we show you the team’s contributions to the current challenge, here is the Top 3 for Challenge #160 - chosen by Margaret who says, ‘please will you thank all those who entered, I wish I could make them all winners but unfortunately we can only have three.’:

1st No 8 Yvonne:

I thought this was a wonderful Father’s Day card, full of nostalgia and interesting embellishments, very well thought out and a lot of work making the card.

2nd No16 Donna:

I loved this card, full of colour, and very striking design, both for our country and for the US also would be a great card for the 4th of July.

3rd No 19: Bonnie Lynn:

This card impressed me, not only is it country and western theme, but there a lot of work gone into making this card, (I know my husband would love this card).

Congratulations to our winners and please don’t forget to grab the appropriate banner from the side bar.
